Is this article about the year 2020? No, it is not, we realized that 2020 brought out lots of advantages for people and some are still optimistic enough to keep the business running, some business owners run 2 businesses together while shuffling between personal life, family and even academics. This has caused a lot of frustration in the community because people are trying to manage their business, as well as manage their lives. Being your own boss is a lot of work and time, but keeping the dream running is the achievement people want to see. Luckily, here is 5 ways on how you can manage your stress as a business owner or as a Boss.

  1. Identify your stressors: Stress usually comes from a problem you haven’t yet started to solve or are having trouble solving. The best way to identify your stressor is to take a moment for yourself and take a step to reflect on the problem you think is unsolved, once you identified your problem/stress, you will take note of how you can solve them one after another. Take your time to identify them, so you can have everything identified. Focus on those things and think of a way to solve the problem, having in mind that they are not bigger than you, this way, you are a step closer to managing your stress.
  2. Build a solid Schedule: Building your schedule will help you rule out things that are important and things that are not, staying focused is the number one rule of working, when you build a solid schedule, it will help you stay focused on the important things first. State what you need to do and when you need to do them.
  3. Have personal time: Time is money they say, but when you work for a long time without having time to reflect on yourself it will bore your time to even want to make money, prioritize your time, work on yourself, find time to think about your career or things you love, this will help you manage your stress also
  4. Learn to say No: Every business owner has a habit of saying yes to everything customers say or bring to them, and as a business owner you must learn to say no, maybe not every time, but to things you know you cannot do, don’t force yourself to make your customers happy always, instead, fix a date and tell them you can squeeze them into one of your free times, then check your schedule and fix them in it. This will help you set boundaries and limits to what you can do and what you cannot.
  5. Take a Break: Thinking doesn’t always solve a problem, in fact, it doesn’t solve anything, take a break for yourself, think of things you love, take a cheap vacation that won’t leave too much mark on your bank account, visit places, talk to friends and families, be more expressive, don’t wait till you black out or fall sick. Encourage yourself in the best way and have a good time for yourself. Unplug during your off time, and take good rest.
